Why Should You Attend McLain?
With three diploma-granting programs and a GED test preparation program, McLain Community High School has something to meet the needs of all students no matter their age.
Experiences
In addition to the core content classes, McLain offers a variety of extracurricular activities, enjoyable electives and field trips. These opportunities vary by program but include rock climbing, hiking, construction, outdoor education, leadership and Gender-Sexuality Alliance.
The field trips provide students with the chance to explore careers, learn about nature and the outdoors, better understand Colorado history, and make connections to the local community. International travel opportunities are offered periodically.
Support Resources
There are myriad resources available to meet the needs of students. A day care program and parenting classes are available for students who are also the parents of young children.
Mental health resources include one-on-one services in addition to new group treatment options for students with challenges such as grief and addiction. Small class and program sizes ensure that caring and trained adults are able to offer academic, social and emotional support.
This range of resources helps ensure students who might have fallen through the cracks at their previous school and have not felt a sense of belonging elsewhere have every opportunity to thrive at McLain.
