Career Pathways
McLain Community High School currently offers two state-approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the business and construction fields. Students will be exposed to real-world careers, learn hands-on skills and can earn valuable certifications that put them on the road to postsecondary success.
Career Pathways in Jeffco
Jeffco Career Pathways follows the Colorado Career and Technical Education (CTE) state plan. CTE ensures a thriving Colorado economy by providing relevant and rigorous education that is connected, responsive and real. CTE engages students and prepares them with the skills they need for fulfilling careers in vital, in-demand, industries and occupations.
Jeffco CTE's mission is to prepare all students for successful careers through the real-world application of core and durable academic skills by partnering classrooms with businesses, industries and communities that positively impact the future workforce. All CTE programs offer academic, elective or college credit.
Business
McLain students interested in a future in business will take classes in management and administration, marketing and finance.
Construction
Through field trips and hands-on projects, McLain students gain practical skills and knowledge that prepare them for future careers in the construction industry.
