Construction
At Mclain High School, the construction class offers students a unique experiential education, with a career-focused curriculum that includes woodwork.
Through field trips and hands-on projects, students gain practical skills and knowledge that prepare them for future careers in the construction industry.
Activities
Students in McLain’s construction CTE program will benefit from the following experiences:
- Trade tours, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, operating engineers and more
- Partnering with Habitat for Humanity
- Woodworking in the classroom
- Soft-skill development
Certifications
The construction class has the opportunity to earn certifications in:
- OSHA 10
- First Aid and CPR
- HBI PACT Core
