Social Emotional Learning

Social emotional learning is an essential part of both learning and human development. It is learning focused on growing skills that help each of us become more aware of ourselves, achieve our goals, manage our emotions, maintain meaningful relationships and make responsible decisions.

According to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), social emotional learning in schools leads to positive outcomes, including better academic performance and decreases in stress and anxiety.

McLain is thoughtful about social emotional learning in support of students, their well-being, and their academic success.
