Child Care Center
The early learning center at McLain Community High School provides quality child care for the teen parenting program (JCAPPP).
McLain’s is a licensed program with qualified early childhood teachers and a developmentally appropriate, play-based learning curriculum. We are a designated Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Program by the Jefferson County Department of Health.
McLain staff are proud to provide a safe and enriched environment for children three weeks to 36 months of age. The program provides quality on-site care for the children and a supportive resource for their young parents.
Day-to-day communication and relationships between the child care staff and young parents enhance the education taking place in the parenting classes. We share knowledge in areas such as breastfeeding, nutrition, guidance, discipline and myriad other parenting challenges that may come up.
It is a pleasure as caregivers to help young parents tune into their natural abilities; to nurture and work with them to provide a better life for themselves and their children.
