Jobs & Internships
McLain Community High School supports students in obtaining jobs and internships for pay and high school elective credit.
McLain hosts two community job fairs each year and also collaborates with Jefferson County Business and Workforce Center on paid internships for students who qualify.
Job Resources
In addition to receiving a paycheck, McLain students can earn elective credit for working. Learn more about the On the Job Experience program.
McLain’s career development coordinator, Jeanne Stongle, assists students with their job searches, applications, resumes, cover letters, interview skills and job retention.
It is recommended that students visit the business websites for jobs they want and apply directly.

Internship Resources
McLain awards students 0.5 elective credits per 60 internship hours worked. Internships need to be career-focused and can be paid or unpaid. Internships need to be approved ahead of time.
Ms. Stongle, in the LMC, helps students connect with employers for unpaid internships.
